American Para-Nordic skier Kendall Gretsch is among three nominees for the Americas Paralympic Committee (APC) Athlete of the Month award for December.

The 27-year-old, Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic champion in the 12 kilometre sitting event, completed a perfect sweep in the biathlon races at the season-opener World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup in Lillehammer.

She also finished second in all three individual cross-country events.

Colombian Para-swimmer Daniel Giraldo Correa joins her on the shortlist, having earned seven gold medals at the Para National Games in Colombia.

This rounded off a year that saw Giraldo take four Parapan titles in the Peruvian capital of Lima.

The final nominee is Victor Eduardo Reyes Turcio of Mexico, who followed up his Parapan American title in Lima with another gold in the men's singles two at the Copa Costa Rica, defeating Chilean Luis Flores in the final.

Nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees from across the continent.

The public are invited to vote for their winner on the APC website, with the deadline Thursday (January 16).
