China beat Russia in both the men's and women's curling finals on the penultimate day of the Winter Deaflympics in Sondrio.

The men's final saw China triumph 6-5 at the Italian town's Circolo Sciatori Madesimo.

There was also very little to separate the two teams in the women's final, with China prevailing 9-8.

Finland defeated Poland 11-3 in the men's bronze-medal game.

The women's third-place playoff ended in a 13-7 victory for South Korea over Croatia.

Competition at the Winter Deaflympics is scheduled to conclude tomorrow.

The ice hockey medal matches will precede the Closing Ceremony.
