Bad weather conditions have caused qualification to be cancelled at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard Cross World Cup in Italian resort Cervinia, with organisers rescheduling it for tomorrow morning, prior to the finals.

Czech Republic's Eva Samková and Austria's Alessandro Hämmerle will both be looking to build on their season-opening wins in Montafon last Friday (December 13).

World champion Samková won the second of two events held in Cervinia last year, and finished runner-up in the first behind the United States' Lindsey Jacobellis.

She has 1,000 points to her name in the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup standings.

Italy's Michela Moioli and Australia's Belle Brockhoff, the respective second and third-place finishers in Montafon, complete the top three.

Hämmerle was followed in the standings in Montafon by Australia's Cameron Bolton and Italy's Omar Visintin.

The 2018 men's events in Cervinia were won by Germany's Martin Nörl and home favourite Emanuel Perathoner.

This is the third consecutive year that the resort, nestled under the shadow of the stunning Matterhorn mountain, has hosted an FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup.
