China will be looking to continue their strong performance at their home International Ski Federation Snowboard World Cup halfpipe event when Secret Garden hosts the latest stop on the circuit this weekend.

The competition at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games venue is due to begin with qualification tomorrow and conclude with finals on Saturday (December 21).

Home athletes have won the both previous women's World Cup halfpipe events at the Chinese resort.

Olympic silver medallist Liu Jiayu took top spot in the 2017-2018 season, while Cai Xuetong triumphed last year.

Liu arrives for the event having finished second behind Spain's Queralt Castellet Ibáñez in the campaign opener in Copper Mountain in the United States last weekend.

Maddie Mastro of the US and Verena Rohrer of Switzerland are set to be among the other contenders in the women's competition.

On the men's side, Australian star Scotty James will be the one to beat after his dominant display in Copper Mountain.

The reigning world champion and Olympic bronze medallist has been the leading snowboarder in the past 12 months and is expected to maintain his formidable run this weekend.

Yuto Totsuka and Ruka Hirano of Japan will be tasked with ending James' recent monopoly of top spot on the podium.
