Team Anna Hasselborg of Sweden won the Boost National women's title in Conception Bay South.

Hasselborg's rink beat Team Jennifer Jones in the gold-medal clash final, ending the Canadian skip's pursuit of a record-tying tenth Grand Slam of Curling (GSOC) title.

The Swede led her team to a resounding 7-3 victory at the CBS Arena.

“It feels really amazing,” said Olympic champion Hasselborg.

"To be honest actually, we have struggled with the competition that we had after the Europeans a couple of times.

"We had a very important chat before going here and setting up how we should tackle this after the Europeans.

"I’m so proud of the way that we’re doing this mentally and we’ve been better and better every game.”

Team Brad Jacobs of Ontario were the victors in the men's competition, edging out Sweden’s Team Niklas Edin 3-1 in a tight final.

It was Team Jacobs' second successive GSOC title, having triumphed at November's Tour Challenge in Novia Scotia.

"I would say it's exceeded expectations," Jacobs said.

"What else can I say?

"It's been a while since we've won this much."

The next stop in the GSOC season is the Canadian Open, scheduled for January 14 to 19 in Yorkton.
