Peace and Sport have launched an app for educators alongside digital solution company My Coach.

The app was unveiled during the Peace and Sport International Forum here.

It aims to move the Peace and Sport methodology, which uses sport to promote positive values such as self-esteem, dialogue and respect, onto a mobile phone or tablet.

It has not been designed for the general public, but made for peace-through-sport educators, gathering various educational content together including tutorial videos, digitised documents and a step-by-step session guide.

A number of Champions for Peace demonstrated the app yesterday at Stade Louis II, using one of the guides to hold a session with local children.

Peace and Sport President Joël Bouzou was also present.

"The logic is to understand how you can achieve peace, and how you can adapt sport so that you can achieve peace," he said.

"That's why we created an application, which you can download on mobile phones, you can download on tablets.

"That's all the knowledge we have aggregated along the years about how to foster peace, using sport as a tool.

"This knowledge can be circulated and become available to thousands of people from a central point.

"Solutions exist to adapt the rules, but solutions exist also to adapt the equipment, creating equipment from waste or raw material, and to have this is really essential."

The Peace and Sport International Forum concludes tomorrow, with two days of debates, speeches and discussions taking place so far.
