India topped the medal table with 174 golds as the South Asian Games in Nepal reached their conclusion. 

India accumulated 174 gold medals, 93 silver and 45 bronze over the course of the 10-day competition. 

Two of the golds came today, with the men's basketball team topping the podium with a comfortable 101-62 victory over Sri Lanka. 

The bronze medal went to the hosts with a 81-59 result against Bangladesh. 

The Indian women's team then thrashed Nepal 127-46 to also claim gold, with Maldives defeating Bhutan 83-46 to come third.

Nepal surpassed their target of 50 gold medals to take 51 gold, 60 silver and 95 bronze and finish second in the overall standings, their best ever performance.

The 50th medal came when Sunil Sahi defeated Bhirendar Singh of India in the men’s under-60 kilograms boxing contest.

They then struck gold again in the men's football competition, with the Nepali side edging past Bhutan 2-1. 

Abishek Rijal opened the scoring for Nepal in the 17th minute, before Chencho Gyeltshen equalised in the 37th minute. 

Sunil Bal hit the winner in the 53rd minute. 

Sri Lanka were third in the medal table, winning a total of 40 gold, 83 silver and 128 bronze. 

Bhutan was the only country to fail to earn a gold medal. 

A colourful Closing Ceremony was held at Dasarath Stadium after the football gold-medal match, concluding the 13th edition of the South Asian Games.
