Defending champions Ukraine thrashed Russia to record their second victory at the International Blind Sports Federation Partially Sighted Football World Championship in Turkey.

A double from Oleksii Zavolovyi and goals from Oleksandr Hetmanov and Maksym Fil gave Ukraine a 4-0 win at the Antalya Arena Sports Hall.

The result saw Ukraine leapfrog Russia into top spot on the round-robin standings.

England maintained their 100 per cent start to the tournament with a 4-2 victory over Spain.

Andy Cahill scored twice, while Kevin Price and Adam Lione also got on the scoresheet.

Olive Rodriguez's two-goal salvo was not enough for Spain, who were unable to build on their 5-1 win against Italy in their opening group game.

In the other match played today, Italy edged out Japan 4-3.

A further three matches are due to take place when the competition resumes tomorrow.
