Figure skater Nathan Chen received a nomination for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Best of November awards.

The 20-year-old captured gold at the Internationaux de France with a score of 297.16 points, topping the field by over 30 points to qualify for his fourth consecutive International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix Final and earn his eighth consecutive win dating back to the 2018 World Championships.

Chen is also on track for his second successive male athlete of the month award, having received the accolade from USOPC for October. 

This month, he is up against BMX freestyler Nick Bruce, who recently earned a world bronze medal, and climber Nathaniel Coleman, who qualified for next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo with a eighth place finish at a qualification tournament in Toulouse. 

Long track speed skater Joey Mantia was nominated for winning gold at the ISU World Cup, while Roderick Townsend is on the list for successfully defending his high jump T47 world title. 

In the women's category, Alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin was nominated for earning her 41st slalom skiing world cup victory, breaking a 33-year-old record held by Swedish legend Ingemar Stenmark.

BMX freestyler Hannah Roberts is included after clinching the world title, while long track speed skater Brittany Bowe took a gold medals at the ISU World Cup season-opener in Minsk to make the shortlist.

Jennifer Valente topped the podium in the omnium at the International Cycling Union Track World Cup season-opener, while Deja Young retained her world title in the 200 metres T47 event and claimed gold in the 4x100m relay. 

Three teams are also up for an award. 

Korey Dropkin and his team of Joe Polo, Mark Fenner and Tom Howell made USA Curling history by becoming the first men’s team to win a Grand Sam event.

The men's fencing foil team, comprising Alexander Massialas, Race Imboden, Gerek Meinhard and Nick Itkin, are nominated for qualifying for Tokyo 2020 with a World Cup win in Bonn, also maintaining their status as the number one team in the world. 

The final nominee is the women's Para-volley team, who completed an undefeated season and topped the world rankings. 

Fans have until the end of today to vote online, with the public vote accounting for 50 per cent of the final result.

The remaining 50 per cent comes from national governing body representatives and select members of the media.
