Norway followed up their win in the men's 4x7.5 kilometres relay by taking victory in the women's 4x6km relay at the International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Cup in Östersund.

The quartet of Karoline Offigstad Knotten, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, Tiril Eckhoff and Marte Olsbu Røiseland triumphed in a time of 1 hour 11min 8.7sec in the Swedish town.

Switzerland's Elisa Gasparin, Selina Gasparin, Aita Gasparin and Lena Häcki were 8.5 seconds behind in second.

Third place went to home favourites Linn Persson, Elvira Öberg, Mona Brorsson and Hanna Öberg, 10.2 seconds back.

Germany, Russia and France completed the top six.

Johannes Dale, Erlend Bjøntegaard, Tarjei Bø and Johannes Thingnes Bø were Norway's winning foursome in yesterday's men's 4x7.5km relay.

The IBU World Cup season is due to continue in Hochfilzen in Austria next weekend.

Six events are scheduled to take place from Friday (December 13) to Sunday (December 15).
