Registration for the European Universities Games 2020 in Belgrade is now open ©EUSA

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) announced registration is open for the European Universities Games 2020 in the Serbian capital Belgrade.

Over 6,000 participants will be able to compete at next year's event, due to take place from July 12 to 25.

A group of 19 sports are set to be contested, including badminton, basketball, 3x3 basketbal, beach handball, beach volleyball, chess, football, futsal, handball, judo, karate, kickboxing, orienteering, rowing, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball and water polo.

Competition will also take place in Para-judo and Para-table tennis.

European students aged between 17 to 30-years-old are eligible to compete.

Potential athletes are invited to contact their country's national university sport body to find out more details. 

Alongside the sport competitions, the games will focus on educational and social aspects of university sport in Europe, featuring conferences and workshops on the topics of anti-doping, inclusion, dual career, equal opportunities, safeguarding in sport and skills development.

The 2018 edition of the European Universities Games took place in the Portuguese city of Coimbra with more than 4,000 participants.
