German sportswear manufacturer Ziener has been named the official clothing partner of the 2021 International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in Germany.

The deal was brokered by Infront Sports & Media, the exclusive media and marketing partner for the event, due to take place from February 23 to March 7.

It marks the first time Ziener has been named a sponsor and it will equip more than 1,700 staff and volunteers as part of the agreement.

The deal also includes the right for Ziener to publish FIS Nordic World Ski Championships highlight clips on its own digital channels, and to integrate its logo on the event website and at the venue through video spots.

Ziener can also design an exclusive FIS Nordic World Ski Championships collection for sale online, in dedicated shops as well as via the company's exhibition space at the competition.

"Ziener's reputation as a top brand in the winter clothing market is well established and we are happy to welcome them on-board as we build towards the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships," Michael Witta, vice-president of marketing sales at Infront Sports & Media, said.

"We believe this partnership benefits for both parties and will provide broad exposure for Ziener's brand."

Moritz Beckers-Schwarz, general manager of the 2021 FIS Nordic Ski World Championships, added: "We are proud to welcome Ziener to our family.

"It is important to satisfy our volunteers and staff with high-quality partners and Ziener is the best we could win.

"Together we will experience the biggest sport spectacle in 2021."

Oberstdorf will host the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships for a third time in 2021, having previously done so in 1987 and 2005.

It is one of the most well-known and important winter sport resorts in Germany.

With the experience from previous FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and numerous FIS Nordic World Cup events over recent years, it is claimed the Organising Committee will provide a perfect venue for athletes from all over the world and up to 250,000 spectators.

In September, it was announced that Stora Enso will be the presenting sponsor of the 2021 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
