The official song of the 2019 Women’s World Floorball Championships in Swiss town Neuchâtel has been released.

The song, Tshak Tshak, is the work of Neuchâtel citizen David Charles, better known as MC Roger.

MC Roger is renowned for his parodies in Western Switzerland.

He was inspired by Aya Nakamura's number one French hit Djadja, which is also very well known in the Romandie, the French-speaking region of Switzerland.

"The entire parody developed very quickly from the initial idea," a statement on the International Floorball Federation’s website reads.

"The text tells of how he catches the floorball virus and how he can hardly wait until the World Floorball Championships get started.

"This thrill of anticipation is meant to be passed on to everyone who hears the song.

"Primarily, people from the Romandie will be made aware of the major event that will be taking place in their area."

MC Roger worked together with the female floorballers of Unihockey Club Yverdon for the shots in the video clips.

"I can already now imagine how the players will be dancing to my song at the WFC," he said.

He remains realistic, however, adding: "You should never expect anything from music.

"You just have to perform it with lots of love and lots of passion, and the rest happens all by itself."

MC Roger will perform Tshak Tshak live during the Women's Floorball Championship Opening Ceremony, due to take place at Patinoires du Littoral on December 7.

The ceremony will be held prior to the Group A match between Switzerland and Germany.

The tournament is scheduled to run through to December 15.

The 16 competing teams have been divided into four groups based on ranking and ballot draw.
