Wenjing Sui and Cong Han will aim for gold in the pairs competition on the fourth stop of the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix, the Shiseido Cup of China.

The Chinese two-time world champions are yet to compete this season, but will make their debut at in front of a home crowd at the Chongqing Huaxi Culture and Sports Center.

Their main rivals will be compatriots Cheng Peng and Yang Jin, silver medallists at last season's Grand Prix Final.

Competition is wide open in the men's event, with stars such as Nathan Chen of the United States and Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan not participating. 

Another Japanese skater, Keiji Tanaka, could top the podium, having finished with bronze at Skate Canada last month. 

Keegan Messing of Canada and Cha Jun-whan of South Korea will also be contenders.

The women's competition features Skate America gold medallist, Anna Shcherbakova of Russia. 

She is set to go up against team mate Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, the 2015 world champion who claimed bronze at Skate Canada. 

In the ice dance, Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov of Russia are appearing for the first time this Grand Prix season.

They will be opposed by American three-time world silver medallists Madison Chock and Evan Bates. 

Action begins tomorrow with the short programme, before the free skating takes place on Saturday (November 9).
