The Kuwait Olympic Committee (KOC) has signed partnership agreements with a number of other national NOCs.

The deals were struck at the Association of National Olympic Committees General Assembly in Qatari capital Doha.

Kuwait has new arrangements with the United States and next year's Tokyo 2020 Olympic hosts Japan, as well as Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Uruguay and Afghanistan.

A deal with Hungary had also already been announced.

They were all signed by KOC President Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser with Kuwait set to receive various benefits.

Thanks to the deal with the US, the country's athletes will benefit from the American Olympic base at Colorado Springs, while Kuwait will work with Japan on areas including sports medicine.

The Italian and Ukraine deals involve sport science while the Spanish link-up focuses on "developing" Kuwait’s Olympic Movement.

Kuwait's deal with Uruguay will be aimed at improving the country's footballers.

One area the Afghanistan deal will cover is martial arts.

The string of agreements represents more evidence of Kuwait returning to the Olympic fold following its suspension being lifted by the International Olympic Committee in July.

This ban was in place since 2015 due to Government interference within Kuwaiti sport, which is against IOC rules.

Kuwait's athletes had to compete as neutrals at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
