Newly crowned world champions dominate the shortlist for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee's Team USA Awards for September.

Eight sports are featured in all across the male athlete of the month, female athlete of the month and team of the month categories.

The men's list includes triple jumper Christian Taylor, winner of a fourth title in a row at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships in Doha.

He is joined by J'den Cox, winner of his second consecutive gold medal at the World Wrestling Championships in Nur-Sultan in the 92 kilograms freestyle.

Skateboarder Heimana Reynolds, winner of the men's park world title in São Paulo, is also shortlisted alongside Para-athletes Robert Griswold and Aaron Keith.

Griswold won two gold and two silvers at the World Para Swimming Championships in London with Keith taking a gold and a bronze from the Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Emmen.

The team category includes the line-up which won the inaugural mixed 4x400 metres relay at the IAAF World Championships.

Will Groulx, Brandon Lyons and Tom Davis, who won world handcycle relay silver in Emmen, are also nominated alongside the women's volleyball team which finished second behind China at the World Cup.

Each national governing body is allowed to nominate one man, one woman and one team for the awards each month.

The shortlist is compiled by a Nomination Committee.

Votes received from national governing bodies then make up 50 per cent of the final tally, with fans making up the other half using an online poll here.
