The International Netball Federation (INF) has stressed the importance of independent Board members, after hearing from British Cycling chief executive Julie Harrington at their Congress.

Harrington, who used to work for the Premier League and took on her current role in 2017, spoke to delegates about the organisation's fight against bullying and discrimination.

She arrived at British Cycling amid various allegations, as well as doping related problems, with an independent review then launched to identify areas which needed addressing.

British Cycling are now two years into implementing various changes.

"She [Harrington] explained that whistle-blowers had identified governance issues and that a lack of trust had swept up the organisation creating a negative environment," the INF said after their Congress in Liverpool.
