The Ivory Coast National Olympic Committee held a sports fitness event as part of the African country's Olympic Day celebrations.

Officials took the event, held under the slogan "Get Moving, Learning and Discovering", to the Attécoubé commune in the country's largest city Abidjan.

Demonstrations were held in sports including judo, wrestling, athletics, gymnastics, karate, archery, cycling and boxing.

Namama Fadiga, the governing body's vice-president for communications, thanked those who attended as well as local authorities.

Fadiga was at the event on behalf of NOC President Lassana Palenfo, who is also an honorary member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

He relayed a message that had been sent by IOC President Thomas Bach.
