Italy were the victors in the FIVB Boys' Under-19 World Championship ©FIVB

Italy won their first International Volleyball Federation Boys' Under-19 World Championship since 1997, defeating Russia in the final in Tunisia. 

Italy were victorious in the first all-European final since 2011, holding off the Russian challenge to triumph 26-24, 21-25, 25-19, 25-18 at the Salle Polyvalente Radès.

It was a second successive World Championship final defeat for Russia, having lost 3-1 to Iran two years ago.

Bronze went to Argentina after they secured a 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17 victory over Egypt.

Iran managed fifth place, following a 28-26, 23-25, 25-16, 25-23 win against Japan, while Bulgaria beat Belarus 25-21, 25-19, 20-25, 25-17 to take seventh. 

In ninth were Brazil, with a comprehensive 25-13, 25-21, 25-19 victory over Czech Republic, before South Korea got past Cuba 25-21, 18-25, 26-24, 25-23 to claim 11th. 

Germany secured 13th place after comfortably defeating Nigeria 26-24, 25-22, 25-15.

The final classification match went to the United States, who triumphed 25-20, 25-21, 25-15 against Chinese Taipei.
