Having amassed 12 wins yesterday, the country triumphed in the freestyle mixed team under-17 event at the Chinese city's Taihu International Expo Center.

They finished ahead of the United States, with Vietnam and Thailand claiming the bronze medals.

The US finished second in the medal standings with eight golds, the last of which was secured in the freestyle pair under-17 competition. 

They were closely followed by Vietnam, while China and Chinese Taipei took the bronze medals.

Vietnam prevailed in three events to increase their gold medal tally to four.

Among the country's winners was Nguyen Dinh Khoi, who beat last year's champion Lin Yu-han of Chinese Taipei to the men's freestyle individual over-17 title.

The bronze medals went to the US's Nathaniel Cromwell and China's Hu Mingda. 

Vietnam's two other gold medallists were Nguyen Thi Mong Quynh in the women's freestyle individual over-17 category and their freestyle mixed team over-17 side.

Nguyen came out on top ahead of Chinese Taipei's Li Chieh-Yu, the silver medallist, and Hong Kong's Wong Ka Yiu, the sole bronze medallist. 

In the freestyle mixed team over-17s, Vietnam defeated last year's gold medallists Chinese Taipei to first place and the US took home bronze.

Hosts China came away with two gold medals, thanks to triumphs for Lin Qiunan in the men's freestyle individual under-17 category and the freestyle pair over-17 outfit ahead of silver medallists Vietnam and bronze medallists the US and Chinese Taipei.

Lin held off the US's Jake Evan De Guzman to claim victory, while Chinese Taipei's Chen Yi-Hsun and Vietnam's Nguyen Duc Thinh were the bronze medallists.

The other gold medal at the World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships went the way of Thailand's Siriyapron Sangchuang, the winner of the women's freestyle individual under-17 crown.

She achieved a marginal average score advantage which ensured her success over the US's Hannah Noble.

China's Zhang Shiran and Chinese Taipei's Chen Hsin-Ya took the bronze medals.

Today also saw the World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships get underway at the same venue, with the women's event taking centre stage. 

The final between China's first team and Russia was an extremely competitive match and saw both sides tied at 30-30 after three rounds, forcing golden point.

With the exceptional skill and composure of China’s Zhang Mengyu, one of the strongest fighters of the day, the hosts won the tiebreaker.

She was ably supported by Wu Jingyu, who played a key role in China’s success by demonstrating the speed and variety of her kicking techniques.

Also on the Chinese team were Zheng Shuyin, Zhou Lijun and Tan Xueqin, while Russia were represented by Elena Evlampyeva, Karina Zhdanova, Kristina Prokudina, Anastasiia Baklanova and Polina Khan.

Rounding off the podium were China's second team's Luo Zongshi, Zhou Zeqi, Wang Huan, Wei Xiaojing and Zuo Ju, and the South Korean quintet of Kim Da-Yeong, Ha Min-Ah, Kim Yu-Jin, Yoon Do Hee and Jo Hee Kyeong.
