Fans are being asked to submit original artwork to be used as the promotional poster for the 2019 Lake Louise International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine World Cup.

Last year, organisers commissioned a painting by Patrick Biggs to run as the poster for the 2018 World Cup event in Banff National Park.

Winterstart Events chief executive Robert Imbrogno is now looking for a piece of art which represents downhill or super-G Alpine skiing in the Canadian resort.

He said: "We are excited to engage with the ski community during the summer months and hope to receive many submissions from artists around the globe.

"We know our ski community has many creative artists within and we look forward to being able to showcase an artist on the international stage."

The contest is open to all ages but the design must be a "two-dimensional creative medium" including drawing, painting, photography or mixed media.

No logos, company brands, event dates or information need to be included on the poster design as these elements will be added during the development process.

Entries must be original and the closing date in September 1.

The World Cup will be held between November 30 and December 8.
