World ParaVolley (WPV) is seeking a new host for the women's Final Paralympic Qualification Tournament in 2020 after Italy pulled out of staging the competition.

The Italian women's sitting volleyball team qualified for the Paralympics in Tokyo and have since withdrawn from hosting the final qualifying tournament.

The tournament is expected to be held between February and March 2020 when six teams will bid to secure the last spot in the Paralympics over six days of competition.

Any countries wishing to stage the event should obtain an expression of interest form and submit it to WPV sport director Laurent Torrecillas by email at [email protected]

An events rights fee of €2,500 (£2,300/$2,800) must also be paid.

In July, World ParaVolley Championship finalists Iran and Bosnia and Hervegovina qualified for Tokyo 2020, while the women's finalists, Russia and the United States, also booked their place in Tokyo.

The Iranian men's team and the US women are the defending champions from Rio 2016.
