Tournament favourites Great Britain will begin the defence of their title when the 2019 International Wheelchair Rugby Federation European Championship Division A gets underway in Vejle in Denmark tomorrow.

Britain have been fine-tuning their preparations at DGI Huset Vejle as they look to claim a third-straight gold medal, and seventh overall, at the biennial event.

They face Switzerland in their Group B opener tomorrow.

The tournament's finalists will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, while the third and fourth-place nations will be invited to the final qualification event, due to be held early next year.

"Obviously we want to go back-to-back-to-back European champions," Britain’s Nicholas Cummins said.

"We want to be European champions and we want to get to the Paralympics, that’s what we’ve been working for.

"We can then go into the next year or so working on what we want to do in Tokyo."

Hosts Denmark are also in Group B and will go up against Poland tomorrow.

Group A is headlined by Sweden, the four-time winners and runners-up in the past two editions.

They will take on The Netherlands tomorrow, while France meet Germany in a repeat of the Metro Cup final held in Poland's capital Warsaw last month.

Teams who finish in the lowest two places will be relegated to Division B.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on Sunday (August 11).

The Local Government in Vejle has expressed an aim of becoming the "capital of Para-sport".

The town hosted the European Para Table Tennis Championships in 2015 and stated 2019 is the "year of Para-sport".
