Norwegian pair Anders Mol and Christian Sørum followed up their Tokyo Open victory from last weekend by clinching the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Beach World Tour title on Danube Island in Vienna.

The rankings leaders and World Tour Finals champions have been in impeccable form of late and breezed past Brazilian rivals Alison Cerutti and Álvaro Morais Filho in straight sets, 21-11, 21-17 in this five-star event.

The duo took just 38 minutes to seal their seventh title of the season.

The Vienna Open glory puts Mol and Sørum second on the list of most wins in a single season on the men's FIVB Beach Tour circuit.

Americans Philip Dalhausser and Todd Rogers hold the record for wins in a single-season with nine podium-topping performances in 2010.

The Norwegians have now won 61 of 65 matches this season and have a current winning streak of 20.

A tight bronze medal match was won by Polish duo Michal Bryl and Grzegorz Fijalek.

The world number three pair won the opening set 21-17 before Americans Dalhausser and Nicholas Lucena pulled level.

They rallied in a tense deciding set to win 21-17, 17-21, 15-11.

Canada's world champions Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes were made to wait for their final against sixth seeds Maria Antonelli and Carolina Salgado Solberg of Brazil.

The match had been scheduled for yesterday evening, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather in Austria.

When the final commenced though, the Canadians stormed out of the blocks and recorded a 21-19, 21-17 victory.

The win represented a first ever gold medal triumph for Canada against Brazilian opposition on the FIVB Beach World Tour.

"All these teams are so good; the women’s field is so deep now," said Pavan.

"When you finish a tournament with a gold medal, you have to be happy."

Humana-Paredes added: "We had to change our flights and that was a bit of a mission last night, but we’re glad we did it and we could play in this beautiful weather on this beautiful day in this amazing stadium.

"It worked out perfectly, it’s a fairytale ending for sure."
