Defending champion Mosaad Aldossary of Saudi Arabia reached the semi-finals on an action-packed second day at the FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final in London.

Aldossary, playing under his gamertag of "Msdossary", is set to face Fouad Fares of France in the Xbox final at the O2 Arena.

"Msdossary" progressed to the last four of the tournament, and the showpiece contest on the console, by recording an 8-3 aggregate victory over "GoalMachine".

Fares, also known as "Rafsou", defeated "NRaseck" to join the defending champion in the semi-finals.

On the PlayStation, "Nicolas99fc" put his difficult group stage behind him to set up a meeting with "MoAuba" of Germany.

"Nicolas99fc", who lost three matches in the first phase of the tournament, beat Denmark's "Ustun", while "MoAuba" defeated eNations Cup winner "Maestro".

The winners of the two console finals will meet in the grand final for the $250,000 (£206,000/€226,000) first prize.

The semi-finals and final are due to take place tomorrow.
