Britain's Emily Benham Kvåle secured a fourth gold medal at the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships in and around Viborg in Denmark by clinching the women's mass start title.

Kvåle had already won sprint, middle and long distance titles in Denmark this week and she defeated home favourite Camilla Soegaard to win a fourth crown.

The 30-year-old, who is based in Norway, was the quickest to navigate her way through the 15.6 kilometres course to win in 61min 50sec with Soegaard six seconds adrift in 61.56. 

Anastasiya Svir of Russia won bronze in 62.00.

The Czech Republic dominated the men's mass start and swept the podium, the trio being split by just two seconds.

Jiří Hradil was the first man home to take victory in 61.09 with compatriots Krystof Bogar and Vojtech Stransky earning silver and bronze, respectively.

Hradil had previously won silver medals at the World Championships in the sprint discipline in 2008 and the middle distance event a year later.

Bogar claimed silver in 61.10 with Stransky crossing the line in 61.11 in a tense finale.

Denmark enjoyed success in the junior finals with Thomas Steinthal and Nikoline Splittoff taking victory.

Steinthal won the junior men's title in 49.06 with Czech Republic's Jan Hasek seven seconds adrift in silver medal position.

The bronze was won by Danil Buzovkin of Russia in 49.14.

Splittoff also clocked 49.06 in winning the junior women's title.

Vilma Kralova from Czech Republic claimed silver in 50.10, with the bronze medal going to Finland's Kaarina Nurminen in 52.20.
