England's unseeded Lewis Anderson knocked out two seeded players in one day to reach the quarter-finals of the World Squash Federation Junior Championships in Kuala Lumpur.

Anderson beat 3/4 seed Viktor Byrtus of Czech Republic in round three in a 53-minute five game thriller today, 11-9, 13-15, 11-4, 6-11, 11-6 at the National Squash Centre in Malaysia's capital. 

In round four this afternoon, Anderson repeated the trick and eliminated 13/16 seed Karim Elbarbary of Egypt in straight games, 11-6, 11-5, 11-7 in 31 minutes.

Anderson is the only non-seeded player in either the men's or women's singles competitions to reach the quarter-finals, as most of the other matches went according to the form book.

The only other upset saw men's 9/12 seed Veer Chotrani of India win in four sets against 5/8 ranked Swiss player Yannick Wilhelmi, 10-12, 11-6, 11-8, 11-3 in 45 minutes to reach the last eight.

Men's top seed Mostafa Asal is safely through to the quarter-finals as well after beating unseeded To Wai Lok of Hong Kong, who had produced comebacks from two games down to win in rounds two and three.

Lok could not make it a hat-trick, however, as he succumbed 11-5, 11-5, 11-4 in 25 minutes.

The top eight seeds are all through to the quarter finals in the women's singles, including first and second ranked Hania El Hammamy and Jana Shiha, both from Egypt.

El Hammamy beat Lee Sum Yuet of Hong Kong in just 21 minutes, 11-2, 11-4, 11-6, while Shiha beat fellow countrywoman Nour Aboulmakarim in 24 minutes, 11-5, 11-8, 11-5.

Action is due to continue tomorrow at the  with the quarter-finals of the men's and women's singles.
