Gemma Howell has continued her golden streak with victory in the International Judo Federation (IJF) Zagreb Grand Prix.

The British judoka added gold in Croatia to her win earlier in July at the Budapest Grand Prix as she defeated The Netherlands' Kim Polling in the women's 70 kilograms final at the Dom Sportova in Croatia's capital.

Howell defeated Denmark's Emilie Sook, Slovenia's Anka Pogacnik and Poland's Daria Pogorzelec to win Pool C and set up a semi-final against Sanne Van Dijke of The Netherlands, who she beat via ippon.

The final against Polling was more closely fought, with the scores level later in the fight and the clock ticking closer to a golden score.

Howell, though, scored a waza-ari in the dying seconds and held on for her second gold medal of this month.

The bronze medals went to Van Dijke and Michaela Polleres of Austria.

In the women's 63kg, Slovenia's Olympic champion Tina Trstenjak won gold by defeating Japan's Nami Nabekura via ippon in golden score time.

Cho Mokhee from South Korea and Sanne Vermeer of The Netherlands earned the bronze medals.

In the men's 73kg, world number 11 Tohar Butbul of Israel edged Canada's ninth ranked Arthur Margelidon with a single waza-iri to take the crown.

The Russian duo of Denis Iartcev and Musa Mogushkov completed the podium.

The men's 81kg was won by Japan's Takanori Nagase, who threw Canada's Antoine Valois-Fortier for an ippon with 95 seconds of their final to go.

Valois-Fortier had beaten world number one Saeid Mollaei in the semi-final.

The Iranian had to settle for bronze, as did Tato Grigalashvili of Georgia.
