Danone, the leading global food and beverage company, has today announced its YoPRO yoghurt brand as an official partner of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC).

It is claimed the Aussie-made high protein yoghurt will be "fuelling" the country's Olympic team on their journey to Tokyo 2020.

The partnership is said to represent an ideal match, with some of Australia’s best athletes already choosing to use the yoghurt as part of their training regime.

YoPRO plans to expand its support to the Australian athletes' nutritional needs in the build-up to and during the course of next year's Games.

Today's announcement coincides with the launch of the fourth episode in YoPRO’s "Journey to Tokyo 2020" content series.

The platform "Fuel Your Journey" focuses on the insight that behind any success story is hard work, dedication and the right preparation, and showcases multiple athletes' struggles and triumphs as they prepare for Tokyo 2020.

It is claimed YoPRO has been delighted to engage a strong calibre of Australian athletes who are on their own Olympic journey, inspiring millennials to pursue their personal goals powered by the right nutritional fuel.

The content series is created and produced by creative agency, Emotive.

Episode four in the series features Aussie gymnast and World Cup silver medallist Mitchell Morgans.

"YoPRO has always been incredibly proud to support Australian athletes," Xavier Gonzalez, Danone's brand manager, said.

"We have partnered with an amazing roster of talent across all different sporting professions and have found the synergy between our brand and these athletes is always fantastic.

"It made sense to team up with the AOC and support our own on the world’s biggest stage.

"We wish the Australian team the best in Tokyo and are incredibly proud to be fuelling them on their journey to 2020."

AOC chief executive Matt Carroll commended the partnership.

"We want our athletes to have meaningful brands behind them as they continue on this journey," he said.

"YoPRO have continuously modelled their unwavering commitment to the sporting landscape of Australia and we have no doubt that the partnership will leave athletes with the right fuel to perform at their best.

"We are delighted to partner with YoPRO and look forward to seeing how this will benefit our Aussies in Tokyo."

During the lead-up to Tokyo 2020, YoPRO will follow multiple athletes on their journey.

Among them is rugby sevens star Charlotte Caslick.

"YoPRO have been a solid supporter of my sporting journey over the past few years," Caslick said.

"Nutrition is a huge part of training at an elite level so it's really exciting that YoPRO have now partnered with the whole Australian Olympic team as we train and prepare for Tokyo 2020."

Other athletes whose progress will be tracked include Commonwealth Games and Swimming World Championships gold medallist Brianna Throssell, Commonwealth Games high jump champion Brandon Starc and up and coming triathlete Matthew Hauser.
