Hosts Russia breezed into the last 16 of the UEFA European qualifier for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

The Russians swept aside Hungary 5-1 at Luzhniki Park in Moscow to ensure they topped Group A, although both teams progressed.

Germany are also through following their 5-3 win over Estonia.

In Group D, Spain top the standings after their 10-5 victory against Azerbaijan, with the latter set to advance alongside Latvia following Ukraine’s withdrawal prior to the tournament.

Switzerland and Belarus have booked their safe passages out of Group E.

The Swiss saw off Turkey 4-2, while Belarus squeezed past Lithuania 2-0 on penalties following a 3-3 draw after extra time.

Turkey and Lithuania will meet tomorrow in an effective playoff to reach the last 16.

The Beach Soccer World Cup is due to take place in Paraguay from November 21 to December 1.
