Beijing is set to stage the seventh edition of the Chinese Olympic Committee's (COC) youth camp in November.

The COC confirmed the event, which is expected to attract over 200 participants, will be held in the Chinese capital from November 3 to 8.

Invited National Olympic Committees (NOCs), which will mostly be from Asia, are able to send two athletes, one male and one female aged between 18 and 35, to the camp.

It will include sports activities, a venue tour and a cultural visit of the city, which hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics and will stage the Winter Olympics in 2022.

The camp also features lectures and group discussions, with each group making a presentation before the camp closes.

"The purpose of the camp is to showcase the unique value, functions and impact of sports culture, enhance the exchanges and cooperation among NOCs and young people across the world and popularise the Olympic Movement through education," said COC secretary general Song Keqin.

Six editions of the COC youth camp have been held since the inaugural edition in 2013.
