England continued their strong start to the defence of their Women's European Lacrosse Championship title with a 16-2 win over Germany in Netanya today.

It followed their 15-4 victory over Ireland yesterday.

Alexandra Drew top-scored with three and there were two each for Jennifer Simpson, Megan Whittle, Matilda Shires and Anna Featherstone for the six-time winners of this event during another excellent all-round performance at  Tubruq Field.

Three-times winners Wales also registered their second victory, albeit in a much closer match, beating Ireland 8-6.

Laura Warren scored in the final seconds for Wales as Ireland were pushing for an equaliser.

Hosts Israel also remain unbeaten with a 100 per cent record.

Having had a rest yesterday following their opening night 13-2 victory against Germany on Monday (July 15), they beat Scotland today 12-6.

Also keeping pace are The Netherlands, who won again.

Having beaten Switzerland 15-5 last night, they defeated Latvia 12-5 in today's final match.

Norway opened their campaign with a 12-9 win against Switzerland.

Austria, beaten by the Czech Republic yesterday, were the other big scorers as they beat Spain 16-4.

There is no doubt what is the pick of tomorrow's match as Israel play England in a match that should give a pointer to which country could lift the trophy when the tournament reaches its climax on July 25.
