Paralympic champion Zou Xufeng defeated Bian Jing in an all-Chinese women’s épée category A final at the Polish capital's Airport Hotel Okecie, while Tan Shumei beat Thailand’s Saysunee Jana to the women’s épée category B title.

Ukraine’s Yevheniia Breus and Russia’s Alena Evdokimova were the category A bronze medallists as the beaten semi-finalists. 

Rounding off the category B podium were China’s Ao Lanzhu and Russia’s Irina Mishurova.

In the men’s sabre category A event, Hungary’s Richárd Osváth clinched the gold medal by overcoming China’s Tian Jianquan.

Britain’s Piers Gilliver and China’s Li Hao were the third-place finishers.

The men’s sabre category B final saw Poland’s European champion Adrian Castro beat compatriot and London 2012 Paralympic gold medallist Grzegorz Pluta, with China’s Feng Yanke and Russia’s Alexander Kurzin completing the medallists.

Also held today was the men’s foil category C event as world and European champion Alexander Logutenko of Russia downed Ukraine’s Serhii Shavkun to seal victory.

The bronze medals went to Russia’s Dmitry Belyaev and Italy’s William Russo.
