The Ski Association of Japan has moved into new offices in the newly-constructed "Japan Sport Olympic Square" in Tokyo.

The building is located directly in front of the Japanese capital's Olympic Stadium, which is currently under construction for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The multi-story, state-of-the-art facility is now also home to the Japanese Olympic Committee and Japan Sport Association as well as more than 60 national federations and sport-related organisations.

An open space has also been installed alongside the building.

Bronze statues of Pierre de Coubertin, one of the fathers of the modern Olympic Games, and Jigoro Kanō, the founder of judo, can be seen on site.

There are also replicas of the cauldrons from the Tokyo 1964, Sapporo 1972 and Nagano 1998 Olympics.

In November of last year, International Ski Federation (FIS) honorary member Yoshiro Ito of Japan visited the FIS office in the Swiss municipality of Oberhofen to discuss Sapporo's potential candidacy for the 2030 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

Ito is a former vice president of FIS, as well as head of the Organising Committee for the FIS World Cup events in Sapporo.
