Britain's Kate French topped the women's qualifying event at the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) World Cup in Prague.

The world number eight scored 1,060 points to top qualifying, leading world number one Marie Oteiza of France by one point. 

Germany's Annika Schleu is in third with 1,058.

It was a disappointing day for Hungarian world number two Sarolta Kovacs, who finished 42nd.

Reigning world champion Jamie Cooke of Britain is expected to be a leading contender.
