Three-time Paralympic gold medallist Carol Cooke of Australia was among the winners as the International Cycling Union Para-cycling Road World Cup continued with road races in Belgium.

The 57-year-old triumphed in the women's T2 road race in a time of 1hr 08min 59sec to record her second victory of the event in Ostend.

Cooke, who won the time trial earlier on this week, beat Jana Majunke of Germany, who finished in the same time.

Monica Sereda of the United States claimed the bronze medal.

American Ryan Boyle earned the men's T2 honours by clocking 1:00:54, with Belgium's Tim Celen and David Stone of Britain claiming silver and bronze, respectively.

Riadh Tarsim of France emerged victorious from a hard-fought men's MH3 race as he sprinted clear of the rest of the field to take gold.

Tarsim denied the host nation the gold medal as Belgium's Jean-Francois Deberg was second and Canadian Joey Desjardins finished third.

All three cyclists completed the 48 kilometres course in the same time of 1:46:13, with Tarsim marginally ahead as they crossed the line.

The event concludes tomorrow.
