Belgium and Poland have been awarded the 2020 European Korfball A and B Championships, respectively.  

The A Championship, featuring the top-eight countries from the 2018 European Championship in the Netherlands, is due to take place in the first week of November.

The B Championship is set to be held in the second week of October.

The eight-strong field will be made up of those nations ranked ninth to 14th at the 2018 European Championship as well as the best two teams from the European Korfball Championship first round event that is scheduled for later this year.

The exact dates of both competitions are set to be revealed in the near future.

The Netherlands have won all seven editions of the European Korfball A Championship.

The event was played every four years from 1998 until 2014 and then moved to a biennial tournament, starting from 2016.

The 2018 final saw the Dutch beat Germany 21-8 in front of a home crowd.
