Isle of Man were crowned winners of the Netball Europe Open Championship in Douglas.

The hosts were required to win their final match of the round robin tournament after Gibraltar beat the United Arab Emirates 54-33.

It meant only a victory would do, with a defeat handing the title to Gibraltar.

Isle of Man were able to triumph against the Republic of Ireland at the National Sports Centre.

They emerged as 57-45 winners to secure the title.

The final day also saw the Cayman Islands record a 73-43 win over Israel.

Israel then suffered a second defeat of the day when they fell to a 59-28 loss against the UK Armed Forces.

The final results confirmed Isle of Man as winners of the Netball Europe Open Championship, with Gibraltar second.

The Republic of Ireland placed third in the standings.
