Costa Rica's Kenneth Fabian Tencio Esquivel earned gold in the BMX freestyle event at the International Festival of Extreme Sports European Series in Madrid. 

He recorded a score of 90.33 points to triumph at the indoor Wizink Center, edging out Daniel Dhers of Venezuela with 89.00.

In third place was Nick Bruce of the United States on 88.00.

Charlotte Worthington was the victor in the women's event, the Briton totalling 93.33. 

Germany's Lara Marie Lessmann and Jennifer Wohlrab took second and third place with 91.00 and 63.33 points, respectively.

In the men's skateboard competition, Vincent Milou prevented Danny Leon from triumphing in his home city. 

The Frenchman scored 83.00 to Leon's 81.00, while Argentina's Matias Del Olio was third with 75.00.

Today's action brought the Madrid round of the FISE European Series to a conclusion.

The next stop will be Chateauroux in France, with competition taking place on July 20 and 21.
