Fiji has named a team of seven athletes to represent the country in taekwondo at this year's Pacific Games in Apia. 

Sakiusa Tuva, Pranit Kumar, Josefa Otterbech, Apisai Baleloa and Kitione Mua will compete in the men’s events with Anegha Narayan and Mikari Tekairaba in the women’s tournament, the FIji Taekwondo Association announced.

"We have confirmed seven of our best to represent Fiji at the Pacific Games," said team manager Nimesh Prasad.

"There is still one more spot to be filled which will be decided on in the coming days."

The target for the team at the Pacific Games, due to take place between July 7 and 20, will be to win the country's first gold medal.
