Germany scored two second-half goals to beat Britain 2-0 in the women's International Hockey Federation (FIH) Pro League in Mönchengladbach.

Hannah Gablac struck shortly after the restart at Mönchengladbach Hockey Park and grabbed another before the hour. 

The scoreline reflected Germany's dominance, with the winners boasting 62 per cent of possession. 

Their victory puts Germany in fifth in the FIH Pro League standings with a 53.33 per cent win rate.

Britain, the reigning Olympic champions, have just one win this season.

They are in seventh place with a 27.78 per cent win rate. 

A series of FIH Pro League matches will take place this weekend, with Germany hosting the Netherlands on Friday (April 26) and China on Sunday (April 28) at the same venue. 

Britain will play the United States at Lee Valley Hockey Centre in London on Saturday (April 27), while New Zealand and Australia are meeting tomorrow at North Harbour Hockey Stadium in Auckland.
