Entry deadlines have been extended for this year’s Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CPISRA) Multi-Sports Development Games in Portimão, Portugal following a late change of date.

The CPISRA have announced that, “due to unforeseen circumstances”, the Games – which are focused on beginners and developing athletes – will now take place from October 2-6, rather than the original date given from October 8-13.

Accordingly, countries and individuals wishing to compete now have until April 20 to register by emailing [email protected]

“Those who have previously entered are not required to re-apply,” CPISRA said in a statement.

“The entry fee has also been reduced to 580€ per person as the competition will be on for one less day.”

Sports included will be Boccia U20s, RaceRunning and Wheelchair Slalom in what organisers describe as “a fantastic opportunity for development athletes to learn, develop and improve while experiencing a multi-sports event.

“Both team entries and individual entries are welcome and will be accepted.

“Families are welcome to join individual entries.”

Although the Games focus on those starting in sports, athletes who have participated in a World para European Athletics Championships are still eligible to compete in the RaceRunning or Wheelchair Slalom, where there are no exclusion criteria.
