The Fiji Association of Sport and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) has awarded its Olympic Order to Anthony Philp Sr for his contribution to sailing.

He was recognised at the Fiji Hall of Fame ceremony in Nadi where Quake Raddock and Joseph Rodan Jr were also honoured.

They were both inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Philp received FASANOC's top accolade after a career which saw him represent Fiji at three Olympic Games – Los Angeles 1984, Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992.

According to the Fiji Sun, he was the co-founder of the Fiji Yachting Association and helped fundraise and build the country's National Sailing Centre, which opened in 2003.

Rodan Jr has also competed for Fiji at athletics.

He did not attend the event with his award collected by his father Joe Rodan Sr, the FASANOC President, from International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons.
