Home nation Japan played out a goalless draw with Russia as action begun today at the International Blind Sports Federation Blind Football World Grand Prix in Tokyo.

The match was one of two in Group A with Spain edging Colombia 3-2 in the other.

In Group B, there were wins for defending champions Argentina and England.

Argentina beat Thailand 4-1, while England defeated Turkey 4-3.

Competition at the Shinagawa-ku Tenno Park is due to continue tomorrow.

The Group A schedule pits Spain against Russia and Colombia against Japan.

England face Argentina in the stand-out Group B clash before Thailand meet Turkey.

Once group action has finished, the semi-finals will go ahead on Saturday (March 23) with the final scheduled for Sunday (March 24).
