Discussions on the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics took place at the inaugural United Kingdom-France Mayors' Summit in London.

Representatives from the London Borough of Newham met with counterparts from Saint Denis in the French capital at the knowledge-sharing event.

The idea was to pass on experiences from the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics before the Games in the French capital.

Much of the London Olympic Park was situated in Newham with Saint-Denis set to play a key role at Paris 2024 as the home of several venues.

This includes the Athletes' Village, the aquatics centre and the focal venue of the Stade de France.

The Summit is viewed as a chance to bring together regional leaders from both Britain and France.

It is hoped that this will "strengthen links and celebrate local partnerships" between the two countries.
