The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) has appointed a total of 23 technical officials for this year's Women’s Under-25 World Championships in Thailand.

A three-person Tournament Technical Committee will oversee the competition.

The panel includes IWBF secretary general Norbert Kucera alongside technical delegates Don Perriman of Australia and Ang Kean Koo of Malaysia.

Portugal's Regina Costa, chairperson of the IWBF Classification Commission, will lead the Classification Committee at the event, scheduled to be held from May 23 to 28 in Suphanburi.

Costa is joined by Spain's Beatriz Garcia Hernando, Australia's Lisa Chaffey, Karen Ferguson of Canada, Thailand's Soraya Unruengam and Jin Yin Tan of Malaysia.

A team of 10 referees comprised of officials from all four of the IWBF's zones - Americas, Europe, Oceania and Asia - have also been appointed, while Somkiat Ngoenphotduang of Thailand and Natalie van Meurs of The Netherlands will serve as game commissioners.

"I would like to congratulate all of the officials on their appointments to the 2019 Women’s U25 World Championships," said Kucera.

"We believe that the team of ITOs selected will ensure the smooth running of this competition."

Reigning champions Great Britain will return to defend their title at the event.

This will be their third consecutive appearance along with Australia, Germany and Japan, who also took part in the 2011 and 2015 editions.

The United States did not participate in the 2015 tournament, but will try to repeat their 2011 triumph in Canadian city St. Catharines.

South Africa also return following an absence four years ago, while Turkey and hosts Thailand will make their debut at the tournament.
