Following a series of continental championships across the globe, the Super 300 event featuring prize money of $150,000 (£115,000/€132,000) is scheduled to last until Sunday (March 3) and go ahead at the Innogy Sports Hall.

The event boasts strong draws on both the men's and women's side.

In the men’s draw, Japan’s world number one Kento Momota headlines a field which also includes Chinese Taipei’s defending champion Tien Chen Chou and the world number 11 Kenta Nishimoto, another Japanese player. 

Top seed Momota, who, as well as world number one, is also the reigning world champion, is set to play Tzu Wei Wang from Chinese Taipei in the first round, while defending champion Chou will meet China’s Zeqi Zhou.

Drawing the crowds in the women’s draw will be Japan's current world number two and Asian Games champion Nozomi Okuhara.

The 2017 world champion is seeded first in a draw that also includes another leading Japanese player, the current world bronze medallist and defending champion Akane Yamaguchi, plus the 2013 world champion Ratchanok Intanon from Thailand.

Canada’s Pan American champion Michelle Li is also in the draw, seeded sixth.

Okuhara is due to start her campaign against Denmark’s Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt, while Tamaguchi will play China’s Xuerui Li.
