The team event opened the competition in Germany and served as a replacement for the cancelled event at Titisee-Neustadt in December.

Piotr Zyla, Jakub Wolny, Dawid Kubacki and Kamil Stoch produced a strong display to give Poland victory.

The quartet led the competition at the halfway mark on a total of 475 points before scoring 504.4 in the second round.

Their overall total of 979.4 points saw the Polish team celebrate a comfortable win over the host nation.

Germany’s Karl Geiger, Richard Freitag, Markus Eisenbichler and Stephan Leyhe ended second on 900.2 points.

The bronze medal was claimed by Slovenia, after Anže Semenič, Peter Prevc, Jernej Damjan and Timi Zajc finished on 874 points.

The victory has seen Poland emerge as the clear favourites for the team competition at the Nordic World Championships in Seefeld scheduled to take place from February 20 until March 3.

Qualification to tomorrow’s men’s individual event took place following the team competition.

Eisenbichler topped the standings by achieving a score of 164.1 points.

He was followed by Zyla and Austria’s Stefan Kraft, who ended on 160.7 and 160.6 points respectively.

Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi, the current overall men's World Cup leader, placed fifth in qualifying.

Qualification also took place at the women’s World Cup event in Oberstdorf, the third large hill competition of the season.

Norway’s Maren Lundby qualified in first place with a total of 143.9 points.

The World Cup leader was followed by Germany’s Katharina Althaus and Juliane Seyfarth.

The duo scored 143.3 and 139.5 points respectively.
