Russia's Ekaterina Feoktistova and Anton Nemov won the women and men's speed finals at the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA) World Cup event in Rabenstein.

The event, taking place at the Rabenstein ice climbing venue in Italy, is the fourth UIAA World Cup event this season.

Feoktistova won the gold medal in the women's event after her opponent, compatriot Valeriia Bogdan, slipped and crashed out of the final.

Feoktistova continued the race, finishing with a total time of 34.23sec.

Another Russian, Ekaterina Koshcheeva, finished third.

This was the first time in the season so far that she had finished outside of the top two.

Russia completely dominated the men's competition as well, with Nemov winning his third gold medal of the season in a total time of 20.27.

He beat his compatriot Anton Sukharev, who finished in 24.14. 

Nikolai Kuzovlev ensured a Russian clean sweep, taking the bronze medal.

The competition is due to continue tomorrow with the men and women's finals in the lead event.
