Only one race in the 49erFX event had taken place yesterday, with Maloney and Meech finishing fourth.

Today they won both the second and third races.

In the fourth race they finished 10th, but with each competitor's worst result discarded, Maloney and Meech now lead the 49erFX by 11 points.

"Starts were really important today," said Maloney. 

"In the first two races, we kind of got away, and it made a big difference for the first beat. 

"The rest of the race was a lot easier. 

"For the last race we were kind of back in the pack and decision-making and tight boat-on-boat situations were a lot harder. 

"Just getting a little bit of a clear lane and away from the fleet in the first half of the first beat was pretty beneficial."

In second is the British duo of Sophie Weguelin and Sophie Ainsworth, who won yesterday's race.

They finished in sixth and eighth place today, with a 25th place finish discounted.

Stephanie Roble and Margaret Shea of the United States are in third, following fourth and third place finishes.

Only one race in the 49er event took place today, with three held yesterday. 

Nevin Snow and Maximiliano Agnese of the United States took the lead after a second place finish, with yesterday's leaders suffering disappointing results.

Britain's James Peters and Fynn Sterritt came 14th to move down to third place overall, while Croatia's Sime Fantela and Mihovil Fantela finished 11th to stay in second.

China's Mengfan Gao is leading the men's RS:X event after taking advantage of light winds to win today's race. 

He overtook Spain's Angel Granda-Roque and France's Thomas Goyard, who finished fourth and seventh today respectively. 

A Chinese sailor is also leading in the women's RS:X after Yunxiu Lu finished third in today's race, building on her win yesterday.

Poland's Zofia Noceti-Klepacka rose to second place overall after triumphing today, with Italy's Flavia Tartaglini in third following an 11th place finish. 

The men's and women's 470 races were unable to go ahead today due to light winds. 

The competition in Miami continues tomorrow.
